Adding the Classpath in New Android Studio

Step 1: Create a New Project in Android Studio

Before we can add the classpath, we need to create a new project in Android Studio. To do this, follow these steps:

  • Open Android Studio and click on File > New > Project…

  • Select Empty Activity and click Next

  • Choose Android as the project type and click Next

  • Choose a project name and location, and click Finish

Step 2: Configure the Project Structure

After creating a new project, we need to configure the project structure. To do this, follow these steps:

  • In the Project panel, click on the Project tab

  • Click on the Project Structure button in the top right corner

  • Click on the Modules tab

  • Click on the + button to add a new module

  • Choose Android as the module type and click Next

  • Choose a module name and click Finish

Step 3: Add the Classpath

Now that we have configured the project structure, we can add the classpath. To do this, follow these steps:

  • In the Project panel, click on the Project tab

  • Click on the Build tab

  • Click on the Build Variants button in the top right corner

  • Click on the + button to add a new variant

  • Choose Release as the variant type and click Next

  • Choose Android as the build type and click Next

  • Choose JARs as the build type and click Next

  • Click on the Add JARs button

  • Click on the Browse button and select the lib folder

  • Click on the Add button

Step 4: Configure the JARs

Now that we have added the JARs, we need to configure them. To do this, follow these steps:

  • In the Project panel, click on the Project tab

  • Click on the Build tab

  • Click on the Build Variants button in the top right corner

  • Click on the + button to add a new variant

  • Choose Release as the variant type and click Next

  • Choose Android as the build type and click Next

  • Choose JARs as the build type and click Next

  • Click on the Add JARs button

  • Click on the Browse button and select the lib folder

  • Click on the Add button

Step 5: Add the Classpath to the Gradle File

Now that we have added the JARs, we need to add the classpath to the Gradle file. To do this, follow these steps:

  • In the Project panel, click on the Project tab

  • Click on the Build tab

  • Click on the Build Variants button in the top right corner

  • Click on the + button to add a new variant

  • Choose Release as the variant type and click Next

  • Choose Android as the build type and click Next

  • Choose JARs as the build type and click Next

  • Click on the Add JARs button

  • Click on the Browse button and select the lib folder

  • Click on the Add button

  • In the Gradle file, add the following lines: 
    classpath 'com.android.tools.build:gradle:4.2.1'
    
classpath 'com.android.tools.build:gradle:4.2.1:build-types-release-4.2.1'

    Step 6: Add the Classpath to the AndroidManifest.xml File

Now that we have added the JARs, we need to add the classpath to the AndroidManifest.xml file. To do this, follow these steps:

  • In the Project panel, click on the Project tab

  • Click on the Build tab

  • Click on the Build Variants button in the top right corner

  • Click on the + button to add a new variant

  • Choose Release as the variant type and click Next

  • Choose Android as the build type and click Next

  • Choose JARs as the build type and click Next

  • Click on the Add JARs button

  • Click on the Browse button and select the lib folder

  • Click on the Add button

  • In the AndroidManifest.xml file, add the following lines:
