Is Baywatch 2017 on Netflix?
The Reboot: What You Need to Know
The 90s classic Baywatch has been a staple of American television for decades, with its mix of action, adventure, and romantic comedy. In 2017, the original series returned to the small screen, bringing back one of the most iconic characters of all time – Pamela Anderson’s iconic character, C.J. Parker. But was Baywatch 2017 on Netflix?
Is Baywatch 2017 on Netflix?
Yes, Baywatch 2017 is indeed available on Netflix. Here are the steps to get your hands on it:
- Sign up for a Netflix account on your mobile device, computer, or tablet.
- Navigate to the search bar and type "Baywatch 2017" or "Baywatch reruns".
- Click on the title and select "Play" to start watching.
- You can also purchase individual episodes or seasons of the show through the Netflix store.
The New Cast: What Changed?
Baywatch 2017 boasts a new cast, including Rick Hoffman as Mitch Buchannon, Vanessa Lengies as C.J. Parker, and Lauren Holly as Vic Manning. David Diaz takes on the role of Jake Parker, and Tiffani-Amber Thiessen makes a guest appearance as Nicole Bradford.
Significant Changes to the Original Series
The 2017 reboot has some significant changes from the original series. Here are a few key differences:
- New Setting: The show is set in modern-day Los Angeles, with a focus on the city’s waterways and marine life.
- Updated Storylines: The storylines are darker and more serious, tackling topics such as marine pollution, overfishing, and climate change.
- New Character Development: The new cast brings a fresh perspective to the show, with Jake Parker being a more cynical and world-weary character, and C.J. being a more confident and assertive leader.
Why Baywatch 2017 is Not the Same as the Original
While the 2017 reboot has some impressive elements, it also has some significant differences from the original series. Here are a few key reasons why:
- Loss of its Cool: The original Baywatch was known for its trendy, modish vibe, with its bright colors, pin-up girls, and turbo-charged cars. The 2017 reboot is more subdued and understated.
- Diluted Action: While the 2017 show has some impressive action sequences, they are often less energetic and less explosive than those in the original series.
- Reduced Romance: The original Baywatch was known for its hunky, charming heroes and socially conscious characters. The 2017 reboot has a reduced focus on romance and relationships.
What to Expect from the Show
The 2017 Baywatch reboot is not a complete remake of the original series. Instead, it offers a fresh take on the classic characters and storylines, with a modern twist. Here are a few key things to expect from the show:
- Stunning Ocean Views: The show features some incredible ocean views, with stunning shots of the California coastline and inland waterways.
- Inspirational Themes: The show tackles some significant themes, including marine conservation, overfishing, and climate change.
- Lovable Characters: The new cast brings a fresh perspective to the show, with lovable characters like Jake and C.J. that will win your heart.
Conclusion
Baywatch 2017 is a worthy addition to the Netflix library, offering a fresh take on the classic characters and storylines. With its stunning ocean views, inspirational themes, and lovable characters, it’s a must-watch for anyone who grew up watching the original series. But be warned: it’s not the same as the original, and it’s definitely not a remake.
