How to Leave a Group Chat on iPhone
The joy of group chats! They’re a great way to stay connected with friends and family who live far away or share similar interests. However, sometimes you might find yourself wanting to exit a group chat, and that’s exactly what this article will help you with.
Accessing Group Chats on iPhone
Before we dive into the steps to leave a group chat, let’s quickly cover how to access group chats on iPhone. To access a group chat, tap the Photos app and select the group chat you want to join or leave.
Opening a Group Chat
Once you’ve opened a group chat, you’ll see a list of members on the left-hand side. Each member will have a name and an "Add Member" button. Tap on the "Add Member" button to add a new member to the group chat.
Viewing Group Members
After adding a new member, you can view their information by tapping on their name. You’ll see their profile picture, name, and a list of messages they’ve sent or received.
Leaving a Group Chat
Now that you’ve successfully accessed and added a new member to a group chat, let’s focus on how to leave the group chat itself. Here’s how:
- Open the Photos app and select the group chat you want to leave.
- Tap the three dots at the top-right corner of the screen and select "Leave Group Chat".
- Tap "Leave Group Chat" on the confirmation screen. This will exit the group chat and return you to the Contacts app.
Here are some additional steps you can take if you want to exit a group chat without leaving the chat:
- You can also leave a group chat by swiping left on a member’s name in the Contacts app. Tap the three dots next to a member’s name and select "Leave Group Chat" to exit the group chat.
