Does ESPN Come with Hulu?
In today’s streaming landscape, many consumers are opting for bundled services to save money and streamline their viewing experience. Two popular options for live TV and on-demand content are Hulu and ESPN. But does ESPN come with Hulu? Let’s dive into the details to find out.
Does ESPN come with the standard Hulu service?
Hulu, a streaming service owned by Disney, offers a variety of plans, including its standard $54.99 per month subscription. While Hulu’s standard plan includes a range of TV shows, movies, and documentaries, it does not include live sports coverage from ESPN.
What is ESPN+?
ESPN+ is a relatively new streaming service that focuses exclusively on live sports and original content. It was launched in 2018 and is available as a standalone service for $4.99 per month or as part of a bundle with Disney+ and Hulu for $12.99 per month. ESPN+ offers a vast library of sports content, including MLB, NHL, UFC, and international soccer matches, as well as exclusive original content like 30 for 30 and Peyton’s Places.
Do I need to purchase ESPN+ to watch live sports on Hulu?
If you’re interested in watching live sports on Hulu, you can opt for the Hulu with Live TV plan, which includes access to ESPN, ESPN2, and other sports networks. This plan is available for $54.99 per month, and it comes with a 50-hour DVR and access to Hulu’s on-demand library.
Comparing Hulu Plans
| Plan | Price | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Hulu | $54.99/month | Streaming library of TV shows and movies, no live TV or sports coverage |
| Hulu with Live TV | $54.99/month | Streaming library of TV shows and movies, plus live TV, including ESPN, and 50-hour DVR |
| ESPN+ | $4.99/month | Exclusively live sports and original content, no on-demand library |
Bundle deals and promotions
If you’re new to the streaming world, you might be eligible for promotional pricing or package deals that include ESPN+ and other services. For example, Disney’s bundle deal (Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu with Live TV) is available for $12.99 per month (a 25% discount) for a limited time.
Conclusion
In conclusion, ESPN does not come with the standard Hulu service, but you can access live sports coverage and original content through ESPN+ or the Hulu with Live TV plan. If you’re interested in watching live sports, the choice between the two services depends on your specific needs and budget. Consider the following:
- If you’re interested in exclusive sports content, such as UFC and international soccer, ESPN+ might be the better choice.
- If you want access to a broader range of live TV channels, including sports, news, and entertainment, Hulu with Live TV is a better option.
- If you’re on a budget, consider opting for the standard Hulu plan and adding ESPN+ or Hulu with Live TV as needed.
Ultimately, understanding the differences between Hulu, ESPN, and their respective plans will help you make an informed decision about your streaming needs.
