Are All Michigan Football Games on Peacock?
Michigan football is a beloved institution in the world of American football, with a rich history and a loyal fan base. However, with the rise of streaming services, fans are left wondering: are all Michigan football games available to stream on Peacock? In this article, we’ll break down the answer to this question and provide you with the necessary information to plan your Michigan football viewing experience.
Direct Answer: Not All Michigan Football Games on Peacock
The direct answer is no, not all Michigan football games are available on Peacock. While Peacock does offer some Michigan football games, the service does not have exclusive broadcasting rights for every game. Here’s why:
Streaming Rights and Broadcasting Partnerships
Peacock is a streaming service that offers a range of sports content, including the NFL, NBA, and MLB. However, the platform relies on existing broadcasting partnerships to feed its content. In the case of Michigan football, the Big Ten Network (BTN) holds the broadcasting rights for most of the team’s games. Unfortunately, Peacock does not have an exclusive agreement with the Big Ten Network, which means that not all Michigan games are available on the platform.
What Games Are Available on Peacock?
So, what Michigan games are available on Peacock? The answer lies in the service’s existing broadcasting agreements. Peacock has acquired some Michigan games from other networks, such as FOX, CBS, and NBC. These games are typically played at a national level or as part of larger packages, such as Thanksgiving Day or New Year’s Day bowl games. Here are some examples of Michigan games that might be available on Peacock:
| Game | Date | Time | Network | Availability on Peacock |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Michigan at Ohio State | 1st Saturday in November | 3:30 PM ET | FOX | Yes |
| Michigan vs. Florida (Orchard Park, NY) | 31st December 2021 | 12:00 PM ET | ESPN | Yes |
| Michigan vs. University of Tennessee | 4th September 2022 | 7:30 PM ET | SEC Network | No (Big Ten Network broadcast only) |
What Games Are Not Available on Peacock?
So, what games are not available on Peacock? That’s the easy part: any Michigan game broadcast on the Big Ten Network, the home network of the team. This includes most regular-season games, as well as conferences and bowl games that are broadcast exclusively on the Big Ten Network. Here’s a sample of what you won’t find on Peacock:
| Game | Date | Time | Network | Availability on Peacock |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Michigan vs. Northwestern | 17th October 2022 | 12:00 PM ET | Big Ten Network | No |
| Michigan at Purdue | 29th October 2022 | 3:30 PM ET | Big Ten Network | No |
| Michigan vs. Illinois | 19th November 2022 | 12:00 PM ET | Big Ten Network | No |
Conclusion: Peacock for Michigan Football Fans
Peacock does offer some Michigan football games, primarily those broadcast on other networks like FOX, CBS, and NBC. However, if you’re looking for most regular-season games or Big Ten Network exclusive content, you won’t find it on Peacock. As a Michigan football fan, you’ll need to explore other options, like the Big Ten Network or traditional broadcasting networks, to catch your favorite team in action.
