To set up voicemail, you first need to log in to your Spectrum account. Click on the "Sign In" button on the top right corner of the Spectrum website or mobile app. Enter your email address and password, and click "Sign In" to access your account dashboard.
Step 2: Navigate to the Voicemail Settings
In the account dashboard, click on the "Settings" tab. Select the "Phone" option from the left-hand menu, and then click on "Voicemail".
Step 3: Enable Voicemail
By default, voicemail is turned off. Click on the "Enable Voicemail" button to enable voicemail.
Step 4: Set Up Your Voice Message
To set up your voicemail, you’ll need to enter your voicemail number and create a message. Click on the "Create a Message" button to create a new voicemail message.
Enter Your Voicemail Number
You can choose from two types of voicemail accounts:
- Specialty phone number: This is the most common type of voicemail account. You can use this number to receive calls from all over the country.
- Answering machine number: This is a different type of voicemail account. You can use this number to receive calls from specific regions or areas.
Enter Your Message
Once you’ve entered your voicemail number, you can enter your voicemail message. You can use the "Speak" button to record your message or type it in manually.
Select Your Message Type
You have two options for your voicemail message type:
- Simply Say Something: This is the default option, where your voicemail message is recorded by your phone.
- Speech-to-Text: This option allows you to dictate your voicemail message.
Record Your Message
If you choose the "Speech-to-Text" option, you can dictate your voicemail message. Speak clearly and slowly, and your message will be transcribed into text. You can then delete or edit your message as needed.
Save Your Changes
Once you’ve completed setting up your voicemail, click on the "Save Changes" button to save your changes.

In addition to setting up your voicemail, you can also:
- Set your voicemail to play automatically: Choose to play your voicemail message automatically when you receive calls. Click on the "Options" tab and select "Play automatically".
- Set up playbacks for calls: Choose who should be notified when someone calls your voicemail. Select the "Callers" tab and choose "Notify me when someone calls".
