Setting Up Your Roku Stick
Before You Start
Before you begin setting up your Roku stick, make sure you have the following:
- A power source for your Roku stick
- A computer or mobile device with internet access
- A Roku account created for you
- A stable internet connection
Step 1: Download and Install Roku TV
Roku TV is the software that powers your Roku stick. You can download and install it from the Roku website.
- Go to the Roku website and log in with your Roku account credentials
- Click on the "Support" tab and then click on "Roku TV"
- Click on "Download and Install" and follow the prompts to download and install the software
Step 2: Update Your Roku Account

- Log in to your Roku account and click on the "Account" tab
- Click on "My Devices" and then click on "Roku TV"
- Click on "Update Devices" and follow the prompts to update your account
Step 3: Connect Your Roku Stick to Your TV
- Plug in your Roku stick into your TV using an HDMI cable
- Ensure that your TV and Roku stick are both set to the same language (English, Spanish, French, etc.)

- Go to your Roku TV interface and click on the "Settings" tab
- Click on "Access Channels" and then click on "Add Channel"
- Select "Google Play" and click on "Next"
- Select "YouTube" and click on "Next"
- Enter your YouTube account credentials and click on "Next"
- Click on "Done" to add the YouTube channel
Step 5: Install the YouTube App
- Go to your Roku TV interface and click on the "Settings" tab
- Click on "Access Channels" and then click on "Add Channel"
- Select "Netflix" and click on "Next"
- Select "Amazon Prime Video" and click on "Next"
- Select "Other" and then select the app you want to install (e.g. Hulu, etc.)
- Click on "Add" to install the app

- Create a channel by going to your Roku TV interface and clicking on the "Settings" tab
- Click on "Add Channel" and select "Create Channel"
- Enter a channel name and description and click on "Next"
- Click on "Save" to save the channel
- You can also add your favorite shows and movies by creating a "Roku Watchlist" and adding content to it
Step 7: Connect to Wi-Fi
- Go to your Roku TV interface and click on the "Settings" tab
- Click on "Connections" and then click on "Wi-Fi"
- Enter your Wi-Fi network name and password and click on "Save"
Step 8: Connect to Google Play
- Go to your Roku TV interface and click on the "Settings" tab
- Click on "Access Channels" and then click on "Add Channel"
- Select "Google Play" and click on "Next"
- Select "YouTube" and click on "Next"
- Enter your YouTube account credentials and click on "Next"
- Click on "Done" to add the YouTube channel

- Go to your Roku TV interface and click on the "Settings" tab
- Click on "Remote" and then click on "Wireless Controller"
- Set up your wireless controller settings, including the default button mappings and channel mappings
Step 10: Test Your Roku Stick

- Go to your Roku TV interface and click on the "Settings" tab
- Click on "Access Channels" and then click on "Test Channel"
- Select your Roku channel and click on "Test"
Tips and Tricks
- Make sure your Roku stick is connected to a stable internet connection
- Use the "Roku Smart Council" app to set up and configure your Roku TV
- Use the "Voice Remote" feature to control your Roku TV with voice commands
- Use the "App Store" to add and manage third-party apps
