Are There Any More NFL Games on Peacock?
The National Football League (NFL) and Peacock, a streaming service owned by NBCUniversal, have been providing live games and exclusive content to fans since 2020. Since its launch, Peacock has been a go-to destination for football enthusiasts to catch their favorite teams and players in action. But, with the NFL season constantly changing, many fans are left wondering: are there any more NFL games on Peacock?
History of NFL Games on Peacock
Before we dive into the answer, let’s take a quick look at the history of NFL games on Peacock. Peacock originally launched with a limited selection of NFL games, primarily consisting of Sunday Night Football (SNF) and Sunday afternoon games. In 2021, Peacock expanded its NFL coverage, adding the ability to stream live games on mobile devices and increasing its game slate to include select Thursday Night Football (TNF) and Monday Night Football (MNF) games.
What’s Currently Available on Peacock?
Peacock currently offers a mix of Sunday, Thursday, and Monday night games, as well as live coverage of the NFL playoffs and the Super Bowl. This means that fans can catch:
• Sunday Night Football (8:20 PM ET): NBC’s SNF broadcasts are exclusively available on Peacock, with commentary from Mike Tirico, Cris Collinsworth, and Michele Tafoya.
• Sunday Afternoon Football (1:00 PM ET): Peacock offers a selection of Sunday afternoon games, but these broadcasts are typically not exclusive to the platform.
• Thursday Night Football (8:15 PM ET): While not all TNF games are available on Peacock, the service does offer a rotating selection of games, often featuring high-profile matchups.
• Monday Night Football (8:15 PM ET): Like TNF, not all MNF games are available on Peacock, but the service does provide exclusive coverage of select games.
What Games Are Missing?
So, what games are not available on Peacock? The answer is simple: games broadcast on CBS, FOX, and ESPN. This includes:
• CBS’s AFC games: As the exclusive broadcaster of the American Football Conference (AFC), CBS airs a range of Sunday afternoon and prime-time games, which are not available on Peacock.
• FOX’s NFC games: FOX, the exclusive broadcaster of the National Football Conference (NFC), airs a separate slate of Sunday afternoon and prime-time games, which are also not accessible on Peacock.
• ESPN’s Monday Night Football games: While Peacock offers some MNF games, not all are available, as ESPN has its own exclusive broadcast agreements.
What’s the Future for NFL on Peacock?
As the NFL continues to evolve, so too do its broadcast agreements and streaming partnerships. While Peacock has been a primary destination for NFL fans, the platform’s future offerings are subject to change. With renewed broadcasting deals and new platforms emerging, it’s essential to stay up-to-date with the latest developments.
