The Classic Sci-Fi Series Returns

What is Buck Rogers?
Buck Rogers is a science fiction series that follows the adventures of Buck Rogers, a space pilot who becomes the ruler of the Earth after a catastrophic event known as the "Great War." The Original Series (1979-1981)
The original Buck Rogers series was a 13-episode television series that aired on NBC from 1979 to 1981. The 1980 Film Adaptation

Peacock and Buck Rogers
In 2020, Peacock, the streaming service owned by NBCUniversal, announced that it would be releasing a new Buck Rogers series, titled Buck Rogers: Time Out of Time. The series is a re-imagining of the original series, with a new cast of characters and a fresh take on the classic story.

Key Differences between the Original and New Series
While the new series is a re-imagining of the original Buck Rogers, there are some key differences between the two. The new series is more action-oriented and features a greater emphasis on science fiction elements. The show also explores themes of power, corruption, and the consequences of playing with forces beyond human control.
Episode Structure
The new series follows a similar episode structure to the original, with each episode featuring Buck Rogers facing a new challenge or adversary. However, the new series also includes some original elements, such as flashbacks and alternate timelines, which add depth and complexity to the story.
Cast and Crew
The new series features a talented cast, including Ben McKenzie, Lizzy Caplan, and Michael Rooker, who plays the role of General Jack Taylor, a military leader who becomes Buck’s ally. The show is also notable for its use of CGI and motion capture, which bring Buck’s adventures to life in a way that was not possible in the original series.
