Is Pokémon Sun and Moon on Netflix?
Availability of Pokémon Sun and Moon on Netflix
Pokémon Sun and Moon are two popular games in the Pokémon franchise that were released in 2016 for the Nintendo 3DS. The games were later remastered and released as Pokémon Sun and Moon: Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon in 2017 for the Nintendo 3DS. While the games are available for purchase on the Nintendo eShop, their availability on Netflix is a topic of debate.
Why Pokémon Sun and Moon are not on Netflix
The main reason Pokémon Sun and Moon are not available on Netflix is due to licensing agreements between the Pokémon Company and Netflix. Netflix has a strict policy of not streaming content from other companies, including the Pokémon Company, without permission. This policy is in place to protect the intellectual property rights of the content creators and to ensure that the content is available to its intended audience.
Why Pokémon Sun and Moon are available on Netflix
Despite not being available on Netflix, Pokémon Sun and Moon are still available to purchase on the Nintendo eShop. This is because the games are owned by Nintendo, which has a licensing agreement with Netflix to stream its content on the platform. This agreement allows Netflix to stream Pokémon content, including Pokémon Sun and Moon, to its subscribers.
Table: Licensing Agreements and Content Availability
| Content | Licensing Agreement | Availability |

Why Netflix is not streaming Pokémon Sun and Moon
While Netflix has a policy of not streaming content from other companies without permission, it is not clear why the Pokémon Company would choose to license its content to Netflix instead of other streaming services. There are several reasons why Netflix might not be streaming Pokémon Sun and Moon:
- Content ownership: The Pokémon Company owns the intellectual property rights to the Pokémon franchise, including the games and anime series. By licensing its content to Netflix, the company is able to control the distribution of its content and ensure that it is available to its intended audience.
- Revenue sharing: Netflix may be willing to pay a higher fee to the Pokémon Company for the right to stream its content, which could be a significant revenue stream for the company.
- Target audience: Netflix may be targeting a different audience than the Pokémon Company, which could be a factor in its decision to license its content to the platform.
Conclusion
In conclusion, while Pokémon Sun and Moon are not available on Netflix, they are still available to purchase on the Nintendo eShop. The licensing agreements between the Pokémon Company and Netflix are complex and multifaceted, and there are several reasons why Netflix may not be streaming the games. The Pokémon Company’s decision to license its content to Netflix is likely driven by a combination of factors, including content ownership, revenue sharing, and target audience.
