A light wind swept over the corn, and all nature laughed in the sunshine.

Story behind the image…

On my recent cross country road trip with my friend Mimi to bring my new truck home I requested an afternoon in the Palouse on the way home.  There is a kind of serenity about the place.  I love gazing across mile after mile of rolling hills as far as the eye can see planted mostly in wheat with some legumes and canola thrown in here and there.  I like to get up on a high point to get a better view of the hills, looking for repeating patterns, complimentary colors and of course, light.  And, oh the light in the Palouse can be so beautiful…  I found myself using my D4 with the new AF-S 80-400mm 4.5-5.6 VR lens a lot.  Above image was 120mm as I liked the compressed look of pulling in distant hills and f16 for increased depth of field.  Stay tuned for morre images from our quick visit to the Palouse while…Road Trippin’.
