Texas Hill Country 3/30/2007

Moose and I headed to the Texas Hill Country to check it out. Our hosts, the Langfords and Jays took us on a tour of the area. It poured all day long…my fault, I am told. When we tried to get back to the ranch to retrieve our car and head to San Antonio to catch our flight, we found ourselves stranded on the wrong side of Block Creek. Water was pouring over all the bridges between us and our destination. (It had risen several feet in just a few hours.) After some creative driving by our gracious host, Larry, we finally made it back to the ranch, forded the Creek once again and made it back to San Antonio in time to catch our flights. While we were waiting for the creek to subside, I found this Red Eared Turtle hunkered down in his shell waiting out the storm.
