Incredible Iceland…Incredible Ice

Springtime in Iceland means the breakup of the frozen Glacier Lagoon, and as the tides push in and out of the mouth of Glacier Lagoon icebergs are moved into the ocean and then thrust back onto the black sand beaches.  I loved the strange shapes and amazing blue colors of the icebergs and the tide splashing over them like rocks.  It was an overcast day which is good to keep contrast down but left the images a bit monochromatic.  A little post processing with NIK Color Efex Pro 4 brought out the rich blues of the ice while Silver Efex Pro 2 on the background water emphasized the drama of the overcast day…
