Those of you who follow my blog regularly, know how much I like to photograph blur motion water. While walking through one of the slot canyons, I saw a pile of sand on a ledge that had fallen from above and it gave me the idea to try some blur motion…with sand. I took a handful of sand and poured it onto the ledge and clicked the shutter as it fell to the canyon floor using a slow shutter speed then converted the image to B&W to emphasize the texture and detail of the rock as a contrast to the soft flowing sand. It’s fun to be a kid and play in the sand again. And the end result was exactly what I had hoped for…
