DLWS New Hampshire Day 3 AM

The photography began before we even left the parking lot this morning. The rain has stopped and as the sun rose the fog began to burn off revealing the beauty of a New Hampshire fall…

It’s great to photograph a lifting fog as it dances amongst the trees play a game of hide and seek with the scene beyond. As the sun rose higher, the fog was backlit creating an aerial perspective look. I liked the graphics of the scene and with the backlighting it was already a monochromatic image so, I took it the rest of the way in the digital darkroom using NIK Silver Efex Pro to make a B&W image…

The colors are spectacular and due to lack of parking we had to pass by many a great location. It finally got the better of me and I decided to make some fall color abstracts from the moving vehicle. (I was not behind the wheel!)…

Playing with different apertures gave me different effects to the point that a very slow shutter speed rendered only streaks of color…

It’s fun to play, you never know what you may get.
