Come On Safari With Laurie…

Yeap, that’s right, I’m excited to announce that I have new safaris posted with dates, prices and all the details.

I have finally firmed up the dates and prices for the Fort DeSoto Safari where I have a special treat for five lucky participants.  In addition to the incredible photo opportunities we will have at Fort DeSoto and in the area,  I have hired the Spoonbill Guy to take us to an amazing Spoonbill Rookery where we will have the opportunity to photograph spoonbills roosting, preening, feeding and flying in one of the most colorful displays you can imagine.  Not only that…we also have another boat ride in store for you to a freshwater Rookery where we have the opportunity to photograph many more species of birds.

After lasts years great adventure Storm Chasing I can’t wait to share one of the greatest weather adventures I have ever experienced.  If you like weather…any kind of weather…then this is the trip for you.  Never in my life have I felt so close to the power and danger of mother nature in a fury and yet safe in the capable hands of our guide, expert storm chaser Brian Morganti.  Brian not only got us to the hot spots for great shooting, he explained throughout the entire chase what was happening with the weather where we were heading and why.  We would anticipate a super cell based on forcasts and radar information as well as the incredible network of storm chasers and get in position to photograph some amazing weather.  Our first day out we saw over ten tornados.  I was hooked!

One of my favorite and most popular safaris is the Coastal Brown Bear Safari in Alaska each year.  And with it selling out so fast, I have added three new “Griz” safaris for 2010.

May 30-June 6; June 6-13 & Sept 12-19, 2010

A great bird photography opportunity awaits those who head to So Texas in the spring for migration and nesting behaviors of more species of birds in one week than I have ever experienced anywhere else.  Crested Cara Cara, Harris Hawk, Green Jay, Golden Fronted Woodpecker, Phyroluxia, Cardinals are just the tip of the iceberg.  We may also have Scissor-tailed Flycatchers, Barn Owls, maybe even a snake or two.

May 10-15, 1009
