Alaska Brown Bear Adventure…HDR Pano

The view from my cabin is one I have never tired of in the nine years I have been coming to the lodge. This morning the skies were very nice, the tide was out and while I had my morning coffee, with camera in hand I decided to make a pano. The light was beyond the range that my camera could capture in on click so, I dialed in a five stop bracket and fired off three sets of frames panning from left to right. The 14-24mm is not my first choice of a pano as the extreme wide angle gives Photoshop a big job of merging edges that may be distorted. Knowing this, I shot wide so I could crop in on the area I wanted. My long lens was mounted on my tripod with the RRS gimbal head attached and I didn’t want to dismount it and change heads so, I simply shot handheld rotating my body with each new frame. It didn’t turn out half bad…
