Flying into Bozeman and seeing the lack of snow had me pretty nervous as to what Yellowstone would yield photographically. Would we be grabbing at straws to find images?…Making lemonade?…Struggling to make images? NO! Yellowstone is spectacular any time of the year and even with less snow and warmer temps than usual, we found some great subjects to photograph…
Our morning began with great light on a Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep Ram…

We stopped at one of my favorite locations near the east end of the Lamar Valley to photograph snow pillows along the river…

And we ended the day with eight Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep Rams along the cliffs near Gardiner…

All in all it was a great start to a three week marathon in our nation’s first national park.
