I Don’t Know Who’s Having More Fun…

Me watching and photographing, or the birds coming to the water to drink, bath, paly.  I can hardly get any work done, I am enjoying watching their antics so much.

They just love that bubbler!

Snug As A Bug…

Ok, I have a confession to make…those closest to me know of my addiction.  I tried to keep it a secret but, every time they saw me I had another…fleece that is.  I love fleece.  Some have comfort foods, I have comfort fleece.  I have fleece for every occassion.  It’s so soft and cozy; I feel so comfortable all wrapped up in my fleece.  I look forward to the cooler mornings of fall so I can once again bring my fleece out of the closet and wear it.  Winter, well, I’m totally layered in…you got it, fleece.

So, now, my friends over at LensCoat have once again fueled my desire for being wrapped in soft, cosy, comfort…only this time, it’s for my camera equipment, that.  Yeap, I’ve got my camera bodies all cozy in their camera wraps, my big lenses are all covered with protective neoprene, I’ve got wraps for my Wimberley Head and the legs, my SB-800 even has it’s own LensCoat pouch along with one for the Better Beamer.  If LensCoat makes it for my camera, lens, tripod, flash, etc…I’ve got it.

Hey, it’s expensive gear.  It deserves to be coddled.

He Built It…And Now They Come

Yeap, my husband the avid gardener built a great little garden in our back yard while I was away on one of my adventures.  He put a water feture in that has this little bubbler and it’s been flat out amazing the number and variety of birds that are now coming to drink and bath.  More than any other bird bath, water feature or feeder we have around…they just love that little bubbler.  It’s like their own little spa.  So, I pulled out the 600mm with a 2X teleconverter and HSC on the D3 and set the tripod up in the kitchen with, literally, two legs in the sink.  I pulled the screen out of the window and played with some of the birds.

Looks like I’m going to have to set up some perches and work these little guys some more.

Dahlia Daze

Well, it’s that time of year again.  The annual Dahlia Festival is in full swing and along with it, the mornings are beginning to have a slight nip, the days are getting shorter and the Dahlias are in full bloom.  Each year that I am home, I have to make a trek to the Dahlia Fields to lose myself for hours amongst the myriad of colors, patterns, shapes, textures.

Once back in the digital darkroom, I let my creative juices run wild through an assortment of NIK filters.
