So Texas Bird Safari 07/22/2007

Where else can you go for five days and photograph over 40 species of birds from the comfort of your chair?  So Texas is the place to be in the spring when migrant birds are passing through, breeding and nesting behavior is in full swing and the birds are so plentiful and beautiful there are times, you don’t know where to aim your lens.  The $1950.00 fee includes five days photographing the magnificent birds of So Texas from the comfort of blinds, transportation to and from the ranches and instruction.

The extension is focused mainly on photographing raptors each afternoon.  We spend each morning photographing the regular visitors and then each afternoon, we move into the “raptor blinds” to spend several hours photographing Harris’s Hawks and Crested Caracara as well as many other visitors.  The raptor extension includes three days of shooting, transportation, instruction, room and board in a wonderful lodge nearby and home cooked meals for $1650.00 (single occupancy).   Sign up for both and save $200.00.

For more information or to signup for the safari and/ or the raptor shoot contact Laurie Excell at or call 503-703-3872.
